As requested, during the period July IS through August 4, 2001, Earth Engineering
Consultants, Inc. (EEC) personnel provided constriction observation and testing services
to you for the referenced project. Those services were provided on a part-time, on -call
basis and involved observation and testing of foundation overexcavation backfill placed
within the building footprint. Results of the observation and testing completed by EEC
personnel during the referenced period are provided with this report.
During the referenced period, EEC personnel performed field density tests on backfill
materials that had been placed and compacted prior to and during our site visits. The
field density tests were completed at random locations and elevations on the backfill
materials and were performed in general accordance with ASTM Specification D-2922.
The results of the field density tests completed by EEC personnel during the referenced
period are shown on the attached summary sheet. The field density test results met the
project compaction requirements of at least 95% of standard Proctor maximum dry
density.

Based on observation and testing performed as outlined above, it is our opinion the
backfill soils as placed could be used for support of footing foundations for the
referenced single family residence.
