Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence under
construction at Lot 17, Coventry Subdivision (742 Stoddard Drive),
a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was
performed on September 26, 1995.
Exposed soils measured from original grade consist of five (5) feet
of sandy clay over a silty claystone bedrock which extends to the
depths drilled, approximately twelve (i2) feet.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adeqaute
length as specified on the foundation plan by KLP Engineering, No.
4028. We recommend concrete be placed immediately after drilling
of the caissons. Casing was not required.
