At your request, we reviewed the subject plans for changes made in
the foundation details. Following is our understanding of the changes
and recommendations.
There were two changes reported in the foundation details at the
subject site. The first change was at the support for the steel beams
in the basement floor. framing. The specified embedded plates at the
foundation wails were changed to steel saddles mounted to the face of
the foundation wall. The second change was that the basement floor
ledger detail was changed. The specified ledger supported by a "Uni-
Strut- embedded in the foundation wall was deleted, The installed
condition was reported to be an embedded two by ledger with
two rows of 20d nails at twelve inches on center to t e'contrete,
The saddles were attached to the foundation wall with four 112"
diameter expansion bolts. The expansion. bolts should consist of Hilti
"Kwik-Bolts" or equal and embedded at least three and one half inches
into the foundation wall. We have enclosed a detail for our standard
steel saddle and a corner saddle supplied to our office that are
reportedly used at corner conditions.

The floor ledger was reportedly changed to an embedded ledger. The
embedded ledger reportedly consists of a two by t itt; r0 rows
of 20d nails at twelve inches on center spiked into the a ger on the
face in concrete. The basement floor foists are reportedly attached
to the ].edger_ with standard joist hangers.
It is our opinion, the reported conditions will be structurally
adequate provided that the details are correctly installed.
