We have observed several of the ten (10) inch diameter, straight
shaft piers supporting the residence under construction at Lot 26,
The Overlook at Woodridge, P.U.D., First Filing (4442 Viewpoint),
a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was
performed on October 4, 1991.
Exposed soils consist of six (6) to eight (8) feet of clayey sands
and gravel over a silty claystone bedrock, which extends to the
depths drilled, approximately eight (8) feet.
We believe that all piers were plumb, properly cleaned, and of
adequate length as specified on our foundation plan, Job No. 1419-
02-02-01. No water was encountered during drilling. Although,
casing was not required, we recommend that concrete be placed
immediately after drilling of each individual caisson.
