Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several ten (10) inch diameter,
straight shaft piers supporting the residence under construction
at Lot 5, Westbrooke P.U.D First Filing (4313 Mill Creek Court),
a subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was
performed on September 28, 1992.
Exposed soils consist of four (4) inche of topsoil over claystone
bedrock which extends to the depths drilled, approximately ten (10)
feet.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adequate
length as specified on our foundation plan. No water was
encountered during drilling. Although casing was not required, we
recommend that concrete be placed immediateLy, after thp- drilling
of the caissons.
