On July 2, 2001, a representative from Terracon observed the crawl space area for the referenced
lot, as requested.
The soil conditions exposed within the crawl space area consisted of sandy lean clay. The soil
encountered is similar to that described in our Geotechnical Engineering Report prepared for the
site and dated August 11, 2000. Based on..our observations, it is recommended the structure be
supported by a spread footing foundation system designed in accordance with the
recommendations set forth in the Geotechnical Engineering Report.
At the time of the observation, no bedrock or groundwater was encountered within two feet of the
foundation area. However, based on recommendations set forth in the Geotechnical Engineering
Report, it is our opinion a dewatering system should be placed around the crawl space of the
structure. The drainage system should be designed and constructed in accordance with the
recommendations set forth in the report.
Sincerely,
TER CON
