Per our telephone conversation on October 22, 2001, we understand that mud strap holdowns shown
on the shear wall plan were not installed during the placement of the foundation walls. We have
engineered acceptable retrofit holdowns in place of the specified mud strap holdowns. The attached
retrofit holdowns are acceptable for use anywhere the specified mud strap holdown is not installed per
plan for the subject addresses.
