Gentlemen:
On April 21, 2000, a representative of Scott, Cox & Associates, Inc. conducted visual spot
observations of the drilling and installation of the ten (10) inch diamet®er iers for the new
residence under construction at Lot 89, Shenandoah, (203 Lyfka',1 sulSision of Fort Collins,
Colorado. The purpose of these observations was to assure that the piers were drilled correctly
for the subsurface conditions encountered and to assure that the piers were constructed according
to the specifications on the foundation plan by KLP Engineering, Project No: 3224.
The pier drilling operations encountered claystone bedrock at depths of two (2) feet to seven (7)
feet below the base of various excavation levels. The piers were drilled a total minimum length
of twenty five (25) feet with a minimum bedrock embedment of seventeen (17) feet, whichever
was greater. Groundwater levels were not encountered in the borings. Casing of the borings was
not required. Concrete was being placed with a concrete pumper. Reinforcing steel was being
installed in each pier.
As a result of our observations, it is our opinion that the constructions of those piers observed
were in general conformance with -the -plans -and specifications. If yoLL have- -any questions- about
our observations or this report, feel free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
SCOTT, COX & ASSOCIATES, INC.
