Coliege Ave., fort Collms - Dear Sharon, AN r Per our telephone conversation, this letter is to request a variance from your standard requirements concerning additional exit doors. Specifically, we would request your approval to let the existing front (west) street entrance door to the Taco Bell remain in the existing interior hinged position. The main entrance/exit is located adjacent to the parking lot on the south side of the building. This entrance also provides the required handicapped access to the building. An additional exit door has been added to the north side of the dining room to meet the UBC requirements for exiting from the dining area. Changing the swing on the existing west entrance door represents a hardship due to the custom features of this circle top door. It is unlikely the existing door could be properly fitted with the necessary hardware to bring it in compliance as a required exit. In addition, if the swing of this door was reversed, the door would swing out over the small exterior landing or alcove that exists at this location. This could make the door more difficult to use than it is in its present configuration. Please let me know if this request meets with your approval.
