Gentlemen:
We understand It is desirable to place some footings at the subject
site on compacted fill. Our original soil and foundation investigation
indicated all footings should be excavated to natural soils, however,
footings placed on structural fill compacted to at least 95% standard
Proctor density are satisfactory.
We Inspected and tested the east interior footings on January 20, 1977.
There is approximately 2 feet of fill beneath these footings. Results of
compaction tests taken in this area are presented in the attached dally
report. Based on the results of our tests, these footing excavations
are satisfactory. The remaining footing excavations should be inspected
to verify fill or natural soils.
We are available for further Inspection and testing upon your notifica-
tion. -
