Gentlemen:
As a result of your meeting today with the City please issue the following field
order for additional sprinkler heads to offset the requirement for a 1 hour
separation bewteen the basement and the first floor. The field order should read
as follows:
"Revise the fire protection system specified in Section 15550 to include the
installation of sprinkler heads above the basement ceiling on the existing
branch lines. This portion of the system shall be sized for light hazard
occupancy and utilize upright heads with a rough brass finish. In accordance
with paragraph 7-4.3.1.2 of NFPA Pamphlet #13 the branch line sizes need not
be increased to handle the additional heads."

Dear Dennis,
Please revise fire protection system in basement per the attached letter
from mechanical engineer.
In addition, please install a one hour fire rated suspended grid ceiling in
corridor and lobby ceiling area. All ceiling details shall remain as shown
on drawings.
These changes are required
Inspection Department.
