LIMITED ENTRY OF APPEARANCE
COME NOW Andrew W. Callahan and Cassie L. Williams of the law firm of WICK &
TRAUTWEIN, LLC and enter their limited appearance as attorneys for Defendant. Fort Collins
Police Services (“FCPS”) is an administrative division of the City of Fort Collins, and not a
separate legal entity. Accordingly, it is not a party that can be sued.
Additionally, Plaintiff’s Amended Complaint and Amended Summons do not name Fort
Collins Police as a defendant. Instead, both documents list the last names of six individuals
(Jahnke, Callahan, Martinze, Barrett, Wilson and Cochran), which Defendant infers are intended
to refer to police officers employed by FCPS. None of them have been properly named, and
Colorado CCE does not have them entered as Parties to the case. Nevertheless, a single summons
was issued with the six last names and served at FCPS headquarters.
Defendant asserts that none of the individuals have been named in a manner sufficient to
identify them, nor have they been properly served. Defendant believes that Plaintiff is attempting

to name them in their official capacities as officers. Accordingly, out of an abundance of caution,
undersigned counsel hereby enters a limited appearance for the sole purpose of objecting to the
sufficiency of service under CRCP 4(c).
