SOIL PREP: Spread 5 cubic yards per 1000 sf of well rotted steer manure and thoroughly mix into top 6" of soil. 3. MULCHING: Weed free hay mulch shall be uniformly applied over seeded areas at the rate of 2 tons per acre. Crimp hay mulch 4" or more into the soil. 4. Apply seed by double disk drilled method to a depth of 1 /2" to 3/4" or use broadcast method. If seed is broadcast the soil shall be raked to cover the seed. 5. As an alternative a similar mix may be hydroseeded. TREE PROTECTION NOTES: n 1. All protected existing trees shall be pruned to City of Fort Collins Forestry standards. 2. Prior to construction, barriers shall be erected around all protected existing trees with such barriers to be of orange fencing a min. of 4' height, secured with metal t-posts. There shall be no storage or movement of equipment, material, debris, or fill within the fenced zone. 3. During the construction stage of development prevent cleaning of equipment or material or the storage and disposal of waste material such as paints, oils, solvents, asphalt, concrete, motor oil or any other material harmful to the life of a tree, within the drip line of any protected tree. 4. No damaging attachment, wires, signs or permits may be fastened to any protected tree. 5. Within the drip line of any protected existing tree, there shall be no cut or fill over a 4" depth unless a qualified orborist or forester has evaluated and approved the disturbance. 6. Existing trees to be removed that are in close proximity to protected trees should be cut down at ground level and should not have their stump removed. All other trees specified for removal should have the stump and roots completely removed. 7. During the removal of existing trees adjacent to protected trees, avoid cutting the roots of the protected tree as much as passible. 8. During the removal process the protected trees shall not be damaged in any way. Removed trees shall not be allowed to fall into any protected tree. No broken branches, trunk damage, or root damage shall occur. In the event a protected tree is damaged the City Forester shall be contacted and shall determine if any mitigation is required. 6" dio.
