Re: Intra West Bank
Dear Mark:
I have received final inspection reports from the Water and Sewer
Department regarding the water and sewer mains at the Intra West
Bank development. The following items need to be corrected prior
to the City accepting these mains for perpetual maintenance.
Manholes Number 3 and 4 need to be lowered.
Two-inch valve box south of Manhole Number 3 is low and
needs to be raised.
Fire hydrant adjacent to JFK Parkway needs to be raised
twelve (12) inches.
Please contact: me prior to beginning this work and thank you in
advance for correcting these problems.
Sincerely,
David Stringer

Re: Marriott at Fort Collins (our project CO-RMV-03)
Dear Director of Engineering Services:
Enclosed is the revised Drainage Plan for the Marriott at Fort
Collins. We have incorporated your comments regarding our original
work into this report. Revisions include:
1. The existing 5' curb inlet that was originally designed by James
H. Stewart & Associates to overflow during the 10-year storm will
be left in place.
2. The pipe sizing in the original report was satisfactory. A mis-
labeled figure apparently caused confusion as to the contributing
flows for each pipe. The calculations have been modified and
times of concentration corrected to clarify the calculations.
3. The effect of the 100-year storm is addressed. Please note that
no ponding will occur. The flows will pass over E. Horsetooth
Road and into Warren Lake.
4. Regarding the detention requirements, please note that Mitchell &
Company has purchased detention rights in Warren Lake eliminating
the need for on -site detention.
Additionally, a question was raised regarding construction of the
storm drain under the proposed addition to the building. After dis-
cussing the problem with the structural engineer (Richard Weingart
Consultants, Denver, Colorado), we believe that our design should be
satisfactory since the building will be founded on caissons extending
to the hardpan underlying the site. The surcharge loading that might
affect the drain due to the building would be limited to approximately
150 psf at the underside of the floor slab. If the drain is con-
structed to the appropriate leakage standards, no problem will result.
