Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 Dear Mayor, City Council, Darin, Carrie, and Jill, I am writing to inform you that I will be resigning my position as Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilmember for District 4 as of December 31, 2020. It has been a great honor serving the residents of Fort Collins and I have enjoying working with all of you. Over the past 5 years, we have had great successes including getting Connexion up and running, committing to 100% renewable electricity by 2030, achieving 365 day a year transit service, and earning the Malcolm Baldrige award. In addition, I am pleased that we have begun work on addressing racial inequality in our community; I know that you will continue to do great work on this issue and many others. In my new position as County Commissioner, we will have the opportunity to collaborate on important regional issues like COVID recovery, affordable housing, economic health, transportation planning, and climate change. I look forward to strengthening the relationship between the County and all the cities in Larimer County. Resigning my position during a pandemic is so difficult as I now realize that I will not be able to see you all in person before I leave. While I am proud of all our accomplishments, I am most proud of the way we were able to work together civilly, build consensus, and provide a model for how local government should work. Thank you for being such great colleagues and for serving Fort Collins so well. I wish you all the best. Sincerely, Kristin Stephens Cc: Delynn Coldiron, City Clerk
