The purpose of this item was to share the completed Parks and Recreation Master Plan and seek feedback on next steps related to sustainable system funding. Over the last year, staff has been working with a consultant team, stakeholders, and the community to thoroughly assess our system of parks and recreation facilities in an iterative and engaging process. The result is the Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Master Plan. General Feedback:  Support for considering Master Plan adoption on December 15, 2020  Support for moving forward with assessment of specific funding solutions and implementation strategies to be reviewed with Council in 2021.  Kudos to staff and consultant team and all engaged as part of this.  Love that in Fort Collins we are given permission to think big.  Responsible planning has served Fort Collins well; Master Plan continues the tradition.  Ensure Natural Areas are encouraged to maintain their distinct functions and identities.  Consider how different cultures use public space differently  Equity is more than access - bring it through from the analysis to the goals  Appreciate the intentional integration with other plans. o The more our plans are linked and integrated, the more robust they become and more likely they are to get built.  Financial analysis has many good ideas. o Prepared to have this conversation in the future. o Look to reduce O&M costs. o Consider scalability of recommendations. Next Steps  Final round of public input and Plan revisions (https://ourcity.fcgov.com/ParksandRec)  Consideration of Plan adoption (December 15)  Develop an internal team to analyze potential funding solutions from the Master Plan, to be reviewed with Council and the public in 2021.
