HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda - Read Before Packet - 11/4/2020 - Proclamation For November 4, 2020 - Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, due to COVID-19 large gathering restrictions, the traditional Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony will not take place this year; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and the Downtown Development Authority encourage you to enjoy the lights while shopping local, shopping safely and shopping early this holiday season; and WHEREAS, since 2007, the Downtown lights have been an exciting start to the holiday season with over 65,000 lights and 339 trees set to twinkle through Valentine’s Day; and WHEREAS, by wearing masks, staying physically distanced and practicing good hand hygiene we can all do our part to spread holiday cheer and not the COVID-19 virus this season. NOW THEREFORE, I, Wade Troxell, Mayor of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby proclaim November 4 as: ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one – DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY LIGHTS ON DAY in Fort Collins in honor of the Downtown Holiday lighting and a healthy and safe holiday season.
