The members of the City Council have directed me to send a letter on their behalf regarding their position on this Project, prior to the Board’s Administrative Matters meeting on August 11, 2020 at 9:00 am. On Monday evening, the City Council received a presentation from Ken Cooper, Facilities Director for Larimer County, and other members of Larimer County staff, to review the final list of potential locations, which included the following properties: •The Sitzman property, located in-between Fort Collins and Loveland on Highway 287; and •Property located at 6750 S. College Avenue; and •Property located at 57th and Wilson in LovelandThe Loveland City Council appreciated the attendance of Mayor Wade Troxell and City Manager Darin Atteberry as well as Larimer County Commissioner, Tom Donnelly. The Council also valued the opportunity to ask detailed questions about the Project, helping inform their final vote. Previously, the City Council had directed correspondence be sent to the Board of Commissioners on July 23, 2020, in support of the original project site location. While added time and costs remain a consideration of a new Project location, the Loveland City Council understands and respects the Board’s authority to make the final decision on the Project’s location. The Loveland City Council extends its trust and confidence in the location of this Project to the Larimer County Board of Commissioners, and looks forward to supporting the Board’s final decision. The Council appreciates the partnership between all agencies and recognizes the importance of determining the best location for this valuable regional asset. Thank you for your consideration of the City Council’s position. Sincerely, Stephen C.
