Dear Chair Artell and Board Members:
On behalf of City Council, thank you for providing us with the November 12, 2022
memorandum regarding “Grant Award Recognition – Air Quality Monitoring” wherein you
congratulated the City, County, CSU and the Center for Environmental Justice for being one of
seven Colorado groups to receive the EPA funding award for air quality monitoring in
historically underserved communities.
This is a very exciting cooperative effort that will hopefully result in great outcomes for all
residents of northern Colorado.
Thank you for your continuing involvement in improving the air quality of our community.

RE: Grant Award Recognition - Air Quality Monitoring
The Air Quality Advisory Board congratulates the City of Fort Collins, City Council, City staff
including Cassie Archuleta and Jason Komes, Larimer County Commissioners, Larimer County
Department of Public Health and Environment, Tom Gonzales, Lea Schneider, Chris Manley, Dr.
Emily Fischer, the CSU Department of Atmospheric Science, Mindy Hill and the Center for
Environmental Justice for being one of seven Colorado groups, and one of 132 groups across the
U.S., to receive EPA funding for air quality monitoring in historically underserved

The AQAB appreciates the regional collaboration on the successful application for the American
Rescue Plan Enhanced Air Quality Monitoring for Communities Grant Competition.
