RE: Community Services Introduces New Youth PlayPass
The purpose of this memo is informational to share with Council an exciting new pass program
being rolled out for the summer, the Youth PlayPass. Designed to keep youth engaged and
connected throughout the summer, the pass offers flexibility to visit various recreation and
cultural facilities around town and participate in fun and educational activities.
Regularly priced at $100, reduced fee passes are
available for $30 to qualifying households.
Qualifications are determined through the Reduced Fee
Program process that is followed for all Recreation
activities, and
overarching goals around income-qualifying programs
and access.
Benefits of the Youth PlayPass include:
Daily drop in admission to recreation facilities
Admission during select hours to City Park Pool
Small bucket of balls at City golf courses for the
driving range
Daily admission to the Fort Collins Museum of
Discovery
Daily admission to the Gardens on Spring Creek
Youth PlayPasses are on sale now at recreation facilities for $100 and will be active this summer
from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

This year, pass sales will be limited to 500 as it is a pilot year for the pass. The goal for future
years is to expand participation to include area non-profits, private businesses, nearby
municipalities, and educational institutions (CSU) for a combined regional benefit for the
community.
Having successfully launched this program in three cities, the goal is not only to generate
revenue, but share the story of Community Services to the greater community, with the intent
that they register for future programs in greater numbers. Program registration growth as high
as 45% was experienced in prior organizations where similar programs were implemented.
The benefits are clear as youth are able to participate in safe and fun learning environments
while they are out of structured school for the summer, and the City gets to play an integral
role in building community and goodwill.
