Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522.0580 970.416.2740 970.224.6134- fax fcgov.com Planning, Development & Transportation Services MEMORANDUM DATE: June 21, 2021 TO: Mayor Arndt and City Councilmembers THRU: Darin Atteberry, City Manager Kyle Stannert, Deputy City Manager Caryn Champine, Director, Planning, Development & Transportation Paul Sizemore, Interim Director, Community Development Neighborhood Services Marcy Yoder, Manager, Neighborhood Services FROM: JC Ward, Senior City Planner, Neighborhood Services RE: Neighborhood Night Out 2021 ______________________________________________________________________ Mark your calendars for t NNO ) on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Part of the National Night Out program, NNO in Fort Collins continues to be one of the most anticipated and widely supported events in the City. Neighbors share that the continued support of City Council truly contributes to the success of their events. Historically, City Councilmembers dropped by to visit NNO events in their Council Districts and we hope you would like to continue this tradition. Your willingness to participate and continue involvement demonstrates the commitment elected officials have to residents across the City and the importance you place on Fort Collins neighborhoods. As we continue pandemic recovery in 2021, some neighbors are more comfortable limiting their guest list to their neighbors. Event organizers are indicating on registration forms if they would like to invite elected officials, Poudre Fire Authority, and/or Police Services to visit this year. To help facilitate NNO visits, Neighborhood Services provides Councilmembers with a map and event details for registered events that requested their participation occurring in their districts the week before NNO. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will receive the complete list of events requesting participation by elected officials. How and where you spend the evening is up to you. We typically see more than 100 events citywide. If you prefer to travel with a City staff member to visit NNO events, indicate your preference when you confirm your availability and we will connect you with a staff member and City vehicle. If you are unable to participate please let us know and we can send a letter to the event hosts in your district. The first 100 NNO events to register receive a $25 gift cards to support event needs. Neighbors and participants are once again invited to use #FoCoNightOut to increase social media presence and NNO awareness. We encourage you to utilize this hashtag when posting on social media too. Thank you and please let Neighborhood Services know if you have any questions or suggestions.
