Bottom line Utilities has established a data “dashboard” which helps to represent the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the community and the Utilities organization. The initiative has established an ongoing set of metrics intended to support awareness and decision-making for Utilities Senior Staff, the City Manager’s Office and City Council. This dashboard is available at fcgov.com/utilities/covid-19 Key takeaways (March 26 through November 30) • Total electricity use (-4%) and peak demand (-2%) trending near expected values • Residential use was higher by 3% • Small / medium commercial was lower by 11% • Large commercial was lower by 11% • Industrial commercial use was highly variable and lower by 7% • Accounts eligible for disconnect were up 43% comparted to 2019 average. Customers have been applying for CARES act funding to help pay account balances • Community treated water up ~ 5% and wastewater down ~ 9% • Single-family home water use up by ~3% • Multi-family home water use down by ~14% • Small and medium business water use down by ~13% • Outdoor water restrictions in effect from Oct 1 through Nov 10. Demand decreased by over 100 million gallons during this time frame Community electricity use and potential account disconnects are also reported monthly in the City’s Recovery Dashboard.
