COVID -19 Community Update
Current Status of COVID in Larimer
●Throughout this response, Larimer County has done a great job in keeping
case counts low by:
○social distancing,
○wearing face coverings,
○washing hands and
○avoiding large gatherings
○Staying home when you’re sick
●We know we’re all getting tired, but we have to keep up the great work.
●Cases have started going up again, far higher than we want to see in the
community.

Hospitalizations in Larimer
●Not all hospitalizations are
Larimer County residents, as
many of our larger hospitals
take transfers in from other
areas.
●Not all hospitalizations are
COVID patients, but we need
to have room for COVID
patients in our hospitals.

Testing
●Testing demand is up across the county, not just at our own community
testing site but also at hospital related testing sites.

Total Tests Per Day
●Testing turnaround times have decreased - 90% of our results returning
within 3 days.
Contact Tracing
●The most effective way to slow the spread of the virus in our community
is quick contact tracing.
●Recently, harder time getting people to answer our calls and provide
accurate information.
COVID -19 Community Update
●There is a lot of under reporting
happening right now, which allows
the virus to continue spreading in our
community.

Trends
●Cases are rising in every age range, particularly the 18-24, 12-17 and
45-54 year olds.
●18-24 year olds aren’t having massive gatherings for the most part, but
most of their gatherings are happening indoors without masks, which
increases risk.
●Many of our 18-24 year olds are college students, but they are part of our
community and live, work and play in Larimer. Their cases are rising just
like other cases across the county.
