Bottom line Utilities has established a data “dashboard” which helps to represent the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the community and the Utilities organization. The initiative has established an ongoing set of metrics intended to support awareness and decision-making for Utilities Senior Staff, the City Manager’s Office and City Council. This dashboard is available at fcgov.com/utilities/covid-19 Key takeaways (data from March 26 through July 25) • Total electricity use and peak demand trending within 1% of expected values • Residential use trending higher by 9% in the last week • Small / medium commercial trending higher but remains 7% lower in the last week • Large commercial use trending higher but remains 6% lower in the last week • Industrial commercial use highly variable; lower by ~16% in the last week • Accounts eligible for disconnect up 70%, trending downwards • Community treated water up ~ 9% and wastewater down ~ 9% • Single-family home water use up by ~21% • Multi-family home water use down by ~5% • Small and medium business water use down by ~1% Community electricity use and potential account disconnects are also reported monthly in the City’s Recovery Dashboard.
