HomeMy WebLinkAboutMemo - Mail Packet - 7/21/2020 - Memorandum From Nick Verni-Lau Re: 2019 Outreach Fort Collins Year In Review2019 Outreach Fort Collins Year In Review To: Fort Collins City Council From: Nick Verni-Lau Date: 7/15/20 RE: 2019 Outreach Fort Collins Year In Review Council Members, Thank you for supporting Outreach Fort Collins as we celebrate our fourth year and look forward to growth moving into year five. Outreach Fort Collins is stronger and better because of the support we receive from our community, and much of that support has come from the City of Fort Collins and its Council representatives. Your support continues to equip us in our mission to maintain downtown Fort Collins as a safe and welcoming place while connecting our community’s most vulnerable to the services they need. Included you will find our 2019 Year In Review. With all we’ve been through in the past four months, 2019 seems a long time ago. Covid-19 has brought new and different challenges to our program, which we have been able to address by leaning on each other and our community partners. We continue to work closely with those partners to support clients whose lives have been disrupted because of changing resources. The landscape of the downtown area continues to shift, as do our tactics and approaches in supporting those experiencing homelessness, downtown merchants, police officers and the community at large. In our 2019 Year in Review, we chose to highlight some of the work we have done with our community partners and to provide a case example of how one person’s journey from homelessness to housing was achieved. At Outreach Fort Collins, we believe relationships are fundamental to achieving lasting outcomes in our clients’ lives and promoting the well-being of our community. This is just one example of the amazing work done by our staff through consistency, collaboration, and coordination in bridging service gaps to get our clients’ needs met. You will also find data from our program which reflects the broader scope of our organization. This data demonstrates the impact we have had in decreasing disruptive behaviors, responding to calls from downtown businesses and residents, and promoting the safety, well-being and interests of our stakeholders. It is through this combined effort and coordination we can achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for our clients and stakeholders alike. As we move forward in 2020 and beyond, we hope to continue to grow our program, networks, and relationships to positively impact the lives of our community members. The City’s contribution to our organization helps us to turn those hopes into reality. On behalf of Outreach Fort Collins, our staff, and Board of Directors, we would like to thank the City of Fort Collins and its Council members for your support in 2019, and continued support through 2020 and beyond. Sincerely, Nick Verni-Lau Program Director, Outreach Fort Collins page 1 | 2019 Year in Review page 3 | 2019 Year in Review 2019 Year in Review | page 4 page 5 | 2019 Year in Review 2019 Year in Review | page 6
