Bottom line Utilities has established a data “dashboard” which helps to represent the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the community and the Utilities organization. The initiative has established an ongoing yet evolving set of metrics. It is intended to support awareness and decision-making for Utilities Senior Staff, the City Manager’s Office and City Council. This dashboard is available at fcgov.com/utilities/covid-19 Key takeaways (data from March 26 through June 13) • Total electricity use and peak demand trending towards expected values, lower by ~1-5% • Residential use within 2% of expected • Small / medium commercial use lower by ~ 11%, trending higher • Large commercial use lower by ~ 14%, trending higher • Industrial commercial use variable and lower by ~ 9 - 16% • Accounts eligible for disconnect up 64%, trending flat • Community treated water up ~ 6% and wastewater down ~ 7% • Single-family home water use up by ~21% • Multi-family home water use down by ~4% • Small and medium business water use down by ~5%, trending higher Several of these metrics are also anticipated to be included in the City’s Recovery Dashboard, which is under development.
