“I have visited all of the
branches of the Library District and
have ALWAYS been treated with
kindness by helpful staff. I am inspired
by the thoughtful programming and
the push to stay current while keeping
the print copies of books that I love so
much. Thank you to the leadership and
staff who make Poudre River Public
Library District what it is – a shining
gem of our community. I love the
library! It makes my heart happy every
time I step in a branch. Thank you!”
— Ibby
“I just moved here and one of
my first local stops was the library
where I got my library card. Both
anchor me in and to the community.”
— Facebook comment— Shantal
“Public Libraries made me who
I am today and my passion for
reading has never been stronger!
I must thank our local Libraries
for giving me my passion!”
— Sara
“I was shocked at what the
Library has, just in terms of databases
and resources available and how
specific they are. It really opened my
eyes to different resources available
for creative projects.”
— Shantal
“Thank you to the gal who helped
me fill out a job application Sunday
evening. I got the job!”
— How’d We Do comment
“I am very appreciative of your
dedication and excellent work because
you do it with your heart. A thousand
thanks for your support and help in
passing my citizenship test. You are
an angel to many people, and I am
so grateful for your help. My children
had a huge smile on their faces when I
passed my test thanks to you.”
— Eloisa
“So grateful for the help we
received. Librarians spent hours
researching the market and providing
reports and other community
resources.”
— Kacey
2019
Public libraries throughout the country, including
our own Library District, continue to thrive. This,
despite individual skepticism about the need for
and relevance of libraries.
Without a doubt, the way in which people use the
library is changing.

audiobook CDs, DVD movies, etc.) has slowly
decreased over the past several years, while
use of digital content (eBooks, eAudiobooks,
eMagazines, downloadable and streaming music
and movies, etc.) has been on the rise.
More importantly, the demand for use of the
library – as a destination for community events,
activities, services, and programs – plays a more
prominent role in shaping our strategic priorities.
Examples of these services and programs include: citizenship workshops,
small business and nonprofit consulting, internet access, kindergarten
readiness, digital literacy training, use of new technology, coding and
STEM classes, job and career counseling, health and wellness activities,
financial literacy, and author and artist events.
Even as we respond to new demands and changes, we do not abandon
our responsibility to our community to promote and celebrate literacy
from early childhood through adulthood. Books, reading, and literacy – in
all their forms and formats – remain front and center in our mission.
Poudre River Public Library District is committed to meeting the needs of
our community as it evolves and grows.
