Ms. Daggett,
Regarding the scheduling of the Ethics Review Board Meeting on February 24th, 2020 at 12pm, I am not
able to get off time from work duties to be able to attend the meeting on that date and time. Due to the
mid-day timing of the meeting, it’s difficult for me to be excused from the responsibilities of work for
what could be as much as a 2 hour meeting addressing the ethics review of 3 individuals and the related
discussion, not including travel to the meeting location. In light of those facts, I’d like to ask that a new
date and time is found for the Ethics Review Board Meeting for my submitted complaint.
As I work during normal daily working times, an early evening meeting time is much more manageable
for me. From a procedural standpoint, as the complainant, I’m able to best present the information and
arguments in person at the meeting, and by being available to answer further questions from council in
person. Because of this, I believe my presence at the meeting is extremely beneficial to the City as it
investigates the allegations of this complaint, and relatedly, just as beneficial to the people of Fort
Collins. Further, I did submit the complaint under the explicit condition that I be present for the hearing.
As it relates to your office, and it’s advisory role in the process, I’m also able to best present to you the
arguments of the complaint in person, while giving you the most data and information possible so that
you’re able to best counsel the Ethics Review Board.
If the date is re-scheduled, I would greatly appreciate having some small input into the future meeting
date and time, as I was not able to give input regrading the initially scheduled date and time. This
consideration would allow me to best choose a time that would fit within my schedule… and it would
mean a lot to me to be able to present my complaint in person to the Board.
If the City grants me this accommodation of my schedule, I would be very grateful.
Thank you,
Rory Heath
