Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522.0580 970.416.2740 970.224.6134- fax fcgov.com Planning, Development & Transportation Services MEMORANDUM DATE: June 20, 2019 TO: Mayor Troxell and City Councilmembers THRU: Darin Atteberry, City Manager Jeff Mihelich, Deputy City Manager Dean Klingner, Interim Director of Planning, Development & Transportation Tom Leeson, Community Development Neighborhood Services Director Marcy Yoder, Neighborhood Services Manager FROM: JC Ward, Senior City Planner, Neighborhood Services RE: Neighborhood Night Out 2019 ______________________________________________________________________ Mark your calendars! This year’s Neighborhood Night Out (“NNO”) is Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Part of the National Night Out program, NNO in Fort Collins continues to be one of the most anticipated and widely supported events in the City. Neighbors share that the continued support of City Council truly contributes to the success of their events. Historically, City Councilmembers dropped by to visit NNO events in their Council Districts and we hope you would like to continue this tradition. Your willingness to participate and continue involvement demonstrates the commitment elected officials have to residents across the City and the importance you place on Fort Collins neighborhoods. To help facilitate NNO visits, Neighborhood Services provides Councilmembers with a map and event details for all the registered events occurring in their districts. How and where you spend the evening is up to you. With more than 100 events citywide, it may be unrealistic to visit every event. City staff from several departments, Police Services, and Poudre Fire Authority will also be visiting as many NNO events that request our participation as possible. If you prefer to travel with a City staff team to visit NNO DocuSign Envelope ID: 1BB8D404-00A9-4299-A10C-4B10CD92B1E0 Page Two events, indicate your preference when you confirm your availability. If you are unable to participate please let us know and we can send a letter to the event hosts in your district. This year, we are replacing the “goodie bags” distributed to neighborhood events with $25 gift cards to support event needs for the first 100 registered NNO events. Neighbors and participants are once again invited to use #FoCoNightOut to increase social media presence and NNO awareness. We encourage you to utilize this hashtag when posting on social media too. Thank you and please let Neighborhood Services know if you have any questions or suggestions.
