RE: December 31st LPT Follow Up – Question Regarding Upcoming I-25
and Vine Drive Bridge Replacement Project
Question:
During the December 31 LPT meeting there was a question raised about the upcoming
Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) project to replace the Vine Drive Bridge
over I-25. Staff was asked to reach out to CDOT staff to make sure there is appropriate
access for residents, businesses, and emergency services.
Analysis:
CDOT will be conducting a significant Public Information outreach effort that includes
notification to nearby residents and businesses as well as a public meeting two weeks
prior to the closure. In addition, CDOT will be coordinating with emergency services
about the closure.
Construction for this project is scheduled to begin in April of 2019. Construction requires
a 130-day closure of Vine Drive to remove and replace the bridge. During this closure,
the east and west frontage roads will generally remain open but there will be interim
closures of the frontage roads as they tie into the project. Staff will continue to work with
CDOT on coordination of this project.
