Mayor Pro Tem Horak was participating by phone, all other councilmembers were present. Project Details A high level overview of the program was provided including the integrated pest management approach recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. The off season review revealed new research on latent effects of WNV and split support from the Technical Advisory Panel for changes to the thresholds for adult mosquito control. The staff recommendation would reduce the Vector Index to 0.50 and remove human case considerations as a threshold. Themes of Discussion  Appreciative of the work of the Technical Advisory Committee.  Continue work related to public outreach, personal accountability, and larval management programs Specific Meeting Direction  Attempt to add a WNV victim to the Technical Advisory Committee.  Investigate the potential of a regional mosquito control district.  Research the opportunity to interact with the One Health Institute at Colorado State University. Because three councilmembers were supportive, a resolution with an option to change the thresholds will be brought to the May 15 th regular meeting.
