Background The need was identified during the Downtown Plan to better utilize the available street space and provide more parking in a generally low-traffic area. A neighborhood meeting was held to discuss the scope of the work to be done with residents. Current Status The restriping from parallel to diagonal on the blocks from Mulberry to Olive will change the area in several ways: • Add approximately 95 new parking spaces. • Reduce travel lanes to one in each direction on Canyon Avenue. • Pilot a permit parking program on the southeast side of the 400 block (adjacent to the Mulberry pool parking lot – please see attached map). Restriping work will begin in October 2017 and last approximately 2 weeks. Future Action After these changes are implemented, the citizens have been asked to let us know their feedback. Contact information has been provided in the notification letter sent to all property owners. Your input has been invaluable. For those who were unable to participate, the City of Fort Collins is planning to restripe Oak Street and Canyon Avenue in order to create more parking along the corridor. The restriping from parallel to diagonal on the blocks from Mulberry to Olive will change the area in several ways:  Add approximately 95 new parking spaces.  Reduce travel lanes to one in each direction on Canyon Avenue.  Pilot a permit parking program on the southeast side of the 400 block (adjacent to the Mulberry pool parking lot – please see the map on back). These changes were identified during the Downtown Plan to better utilize the available street space and provide more parking in a generally low-traffic area. Restriping work will begin in the end of October 2017 and last approximately 2 weeks (weather dependent). After these changes are implemented, we encourage you to let us know how they are working out.
