CELEBRATION
& REFLECTIONS
Recognizing the volunteer eorts to
accomplish an extraordinary 2016/2017 pilot
season providing community-based winter
shelter options for men in Fort Collins.
Dedicated volunteers – the fundamental strength
of the pilot project – helped the program succeed.
More than 60 volunteers contributed more than
1,250 hours of service in the pilot season.
Volunteers managed satellite sites, provided safe
transportation, and delivered welcoming and
compassionate hospitality. Their significant
investment of time, learning and improvement
helped realize a vision for a volunteer and
community-based overnight shelter program in
Fort Collins.

Partnerships are the crucial building blocks for the
growth of the project, catalyzing our community
and bringing together the necessary resources
and networks the project requires. Our partners
provide expertise, voluntary overnight satellite
sites, volunteer recruitment, essential supplies and
outreach. Together, our capacity was
strengthened, and we explored what is possible.
From this modest but mighty pilot, we can
continue to find organizations to get involved and
invest in the compassionate community
coalescing around Safe Place to Rest.
