HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Mail Packet - 4/4/2017 - Information From Darin Atteberry Re: Stadium Advisory Group (Sag) Meeting Notes - January 23, 2017 And February 20, 2017Jennifer Lobermeier | Administrative Support for Stadium Advisory Group | 970-491-2359 | Jennifer.Lobermeier@colostate.edu Stadium Advisory Group January 23, 2017 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Lory Student Center, Room 378 Agenda:  Meeting called to order  Public Comment  Construction Update – Fred Haberecht, CSU Assistant Director of Facilities Management and Campus Planner, and Doug Wilson, Director and Project Field Manager, ICON Venue Group. o Stadium construction update - West tower enclosed and heat is working. Currently working on the field installation, interior (paint, plumbing, tile, flooring, and ceiling), and scoreboard installation prep (south side of stadium; 84 ft. wide by 50 ft. tall). Concession and bar spaces are being worked on currently as well as suite level. Alumni Center is framed and dry wall. CASA offices and classroom spaces are slated next for framing and dry wall. Substantial completion date is proposed as June 9, 2017. o Campus construction update - Biology and Chemistry buildings will open for fall 2017 classes. Currently working on interior work. Shields/Elizabeth and Shields/Prospect closures discussed. Handouts also provided.  Stadium Game Day Operations open house dates are Friday, Jan. 27 at 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Grey Rock Room and Feb. 1 6-8 p.m. at the Drake Centre. Tables include: SAG, Game Day Operations, parking, Athletics, transportation, and road construction.  SAG group work-session o Discussion surrounded the Good Neighbor Fund proposal application and deadlines for submission as well as next meeting date.  Meeting adjournment at 6:30 p.m. Next Meeting:  February 20, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. LSC 328-330. March 30, 2017 TO: Mayor & City Council FROM: Darin Atteberry FYI /sek Jennifer Lobermeier | Administrative Support for Stadium Advisory Group | 970-491-2359 | Jennifer.Lobermeier@colostate.edu Stadium Advisory Group February 20, 2017 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Lory Student Center, Room 328-330 Agenda:  Meeting called to order  Public Comment o Alan Lamborn discussed concerns regarding the design of the south-facing side of the stadium in relation to recommendations to University in 2014 by the Community Design Development Advisory Committee. SAG asked Doug Wilson, Icon, to look into what might be done around lighting options for the smaller Ram’s head logo.  Construction Update & Game Day open houses – Fred Haberecht, CSU Assistant Director of Facilities Management and Campus Planner o Provided a summary of the well-attended Game Day Open Houses – Jan. 27 and Feb. 1. Discussions at the open house booths surrounded traffic, transportation, game day operations, game day experience (tickets, tailgating, etc.) stadium advisory group, and parking. There will be an open house in early summer with the same information. o Construction update included the following closure information: Lake St. between College & Shields closures: westbound March 20-April 4, eastbound April 17-May 2; Shields/Elizabeth intersection closed from Feb. 25 – March 16; College/Prospect to College/Remington closures: Feb. 13 – August 1; Pitkin St./Meridian March closures 11-18; Shields/Prospect closures March – April with lane closures, full closure July 10-28 o Shields/Elizabeth underpass on schedule  Stadium Construction Update & Scoreboard – Doug Wilson, Director and Project Field Manager, ICON Venue Group. o Stadium update - Working on interior work throughout the stadium. Alumni Center construction is ahead of schedule. CASA and academic spaces are beginning interior work. Additionally, bench &chair back installation, electrical work on stadium lights, and external stone/brick/cement work. Anticipated completion date is June 9. o Scoreboard currently being installed. It is a 4 ft. (w) x 50 ft. (h), Panasonic screen with metal and stone supports/framing. Screen projections face into the field on north side. No scoreboard projects on the south side. Top corner facing both north and south will be a Ram head logo. LED light will appear but no brighter than a street light.  Work session - SAG members finalized Good Neighbor Fund proposal application.
