HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Mail Packet - 4/12/2016 - Colorado State University Stadium Advisory Group Minutes - March 21, 2016Jennifer Lobermeier | Administrative Support for Stadium Advisory Group | 970-491-2359 | Jennifer.Lobermeier@colostate.edu Stadium Advisory Group, March 21, 2016, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Lory Student Center – Room 312 Minutes:  5:30 p.m. Meeting called to order  Public Comment: o Jean Yule – discussed concerns regarding tailgating, student car parking, parking for non-game events, and homes/yards issues in relation to Prospect Road expansion. CSU Athletic Director Joe Parker and City of Fort Collins Deputy City Manager Jeff Mihelich addressed concerns.  Construction Updates – Fred Haberecht, Assistant Director of Facilities Management and Campus Planner, CSU and Doug Wilson, ICON. o CSU construction projects are all on schedule. Aggie Village Apartments will be completed summer 2016 with students starting to move in August 1. Interior work is currently being completed. Prospect underpass will have upcoming lane closures starting on 3/22 for approximately six weeks. Chemistry building’s foundations complete. Biology building’s foundations complete and steel being constructed. Pitkin garage’s concrete erected, topping decks, and electrical and plumbing going in. Health and Medical Center beginning caisson work. o Stadium – Doug Wilson, Director and Project Field Manager, ICON Venue Group presented aerial photos of the stadium construction site and discussed construction timeline. See handout.  Video Hard Hat Tour – Joe Parker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Iw9ZIc4i3I  Whitcomb Gateway and Sewer Line Replacement – Fred Haberecht and Dave Richardson o Notification postcard mailed to Sheely neighborhood. Walked door-to-door on Whitcomb to inform residents of schedule work and March 24 neighborhood meeting. Beginning replacement on the south end of Whitcomb at Wallenberg Dr. and working to north, man-hole to man-hole. Minimal disruptions are expected and will be communicated with residents who will be impacted. Moving across Prospect will be done over a weekend to lessen traffic disruptions and currently working on traffic and parking plans. Addressed concerns about exiting the neighborhood at a traffic light. Project duration is approximately early May to mid-July. • Waterline work will also be completed and will use same trenches. o Whitcomb Streetscape • Curb and gutter will be replaced within the same time period of the sewer line replacement along the portion of Whitcomb (between Lake St. and Prospect Rd.). Larger sidewalks and landscaping will also be part of the project. 60 spaces will be added to the Aggie Village parking lot with the removal of 8 houses.  Lighting & Sound – ICON – see presentation handouts. o Corey Berhost, Senior Associate, ME Engineers (Light Study) Discussed analysis and potential impact of stadium lighting on surrounding areas. See presentation handout. o Tom Falgien, Project Manager, WJHW (Sound Study). Analysis and study of potential sound impact of stadium.
