Fort Collins, CO 80521
Dear Mayor Weitkunat, Mayor Pro Tem Horak, and Council Members Campana,
Cunniff, Overbeck, Poppaw and Troxell;
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to the public conversation
regarding the possible renewal of the Building on Basics sales tax and the projects that will be
of greatest benefit to the community. The Chamber has a long history of supporting the capital
project quarter cent sales tax packages dating back to the very first one in 1973. A key
consideration for us is the inclusion of projects that have substantial and enduring impact on the
community.
In that light, as the Council begins to prioritize the list of projects, we ask you to include the
Vine & Lemay Grade Separated Crossing Design, ROW and Construction as a high priority
item in the 2015 package. This is a key transportation and quality of life investment for our
community that will significantly improve traffic flow in the northeast quadrant of the City.
We encourage the Council to support key infrastructure projects through the next capital
investment tax package and to make the Vine & Lemay Grade Separated Crossing a high
priority.
Sincerely,
Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce
