Library Leadership Team
Letter from the
Executive Director
Holly Carroll
Letter from the President
of the Board of Trustees
The very definition of library services has
expanded and widened in the last several years.
Our libraries still offer an astounding variety of books and printed
materials, but in addition, our digital resources allow us to cater
to our patrons’ needs in a more convenient way.
You can download library e-books and music without leaving
home and have music and movies available in a variety of
media types. A special phone app makes using the library even
more convenient. You can use our website to find out medical
information, check consumer appliance reviews, get reading
recommendations, or learn a foreign language, just to name a few.
Our outreach services take literacy and other library programs
into the community to reach our patrons where they live. Many
library happenings now take place outside the walls of our
buildings. Whether you are interested in author presentations,
history programs, musical experiences or nature talks, we have
what you are looking for. Our children’s literacy efforts target
every age group from babies through high school students.
As we look to the future, we are committed to delivering
exceptional service and to engaging with our patrons in innovative
ways. We are fortunate to live in a community that appreciates
and supports libraries, learning and literature.

Innovate, learn, serve and engage. The Library Leadership
Team identified these four words to describe our organization’s
culture. Each day our dedicated workforce plans and delivers
services that are responsive to your needs. We are committed
to creating an environment that engages, encourages learning
and innovation and is inclusive of our diverse community.
This info-graphic of library use and activity in 2013 gives a quick
overview of library services. As you can see our facilities
welcome many visitors and our library materials and technology
are heavily used. People attended over 2,000 programs
including storytimes, cultural events and author appearances.
Community volunteers including the Library trustees, Friends of
the Library and Library Trust devote countless hours to help us
better serve you.
Numbers tell only part of the story however. Experience our
Library District for yourself: visit one of our three libraries,
participate in an activity hosted at a satellite location or take
advantage of our 24/7 on-line services.
Libraries truly transform lives and build
community.
