RE: Administrative Fees Relating to Medical Marijuana Business Licenses

The purpose of the memo is to establish a revised fee schedule for medical marijuana applications and
licenses. These fees replace those approved by you effective May 1, 2011, and have been adjusted to
better defray the costs incurred by the City for background investigations and inspection of the proposed
premises, as well as any other costs associated with the processing of the application.
The proposed fees, effective January 2, 2013, are as follows:
License application fee (Center, MIP, or OPC not tied to a FC Center or MIP) $2,000
License (Center, MIP, or OPC not tied to a FC Center or MIP) $1,000
License application fee (OPC tied to a FC Center or MIP) $1,000
License (OPC tied to a FC Center or MIP) $ 500
Transfer of ownership to a new entity (Center or MIP) $1,500
- additional fee per associated OPC $ 500
Transfer of ownership of an OPC not tied to a FC Center or MIP $ 750
Change of ownership makeup of current licensee $ 500
Change of location (any type of license) $1,000
Trade name change $ 50
Manager registration $ 150
Modification of premises $ 150
Renewal of license (each Center, MIP or OPC) $ 250
Inspection fee (upon issuance of new or renewed license) $ 700 (per
year of license
term)
Please indicate your approval of the fees outlined above by signing below and returning this document to
me. I will then notify the Budget Office of your approval.
