Updating international codes to replace prior editions is a habitual practice for our city. Our building officials have also cited local amendments that could help with sustainability goals. Specifically: - EV Charging - providing trade-off options for building and developers that want to install more EV chargers than minimum requirement - Energy Code - implementation of EUI and C02e targets - Water Demand Calculator - a methodology used to right-size plumbing distribution systems in residential buildings We ask the Council to endorse the additional measures suggested. The code review committee process has been meeting for almost a year, and we ask that approval be expedited to meet our environmental challenges. Very Respectfully, The Air Quality Advisory Board cc: Kelly DiMartino, City Manager Jacob Castillo, Chief Sustainability Officer Kelly Ohlson, City Council Liaison to the AQAB Selina Lujan de Albers, Manager Environmental Sustainability & AQAB Staff Liaison Marcus Coldiron, Chief Building Official Brad Smith, Sr. Project Manager, Energy Services
