• At the time of the meeting, there were 25 people signed up to speak during public comment. The
majority of those are related to short term rentals.
July 8, 2025 Work Session

Six-Month Calendar
• July 15 – Items related to a citizen initiative relating to the Hughes property has been scheduled.
Staff expects to present the sufficient petition to Council and based on the City’s Charter, Council will
have the choice of either adopting the citizen-initiated ordinance without any changes or referring the
item to the November, 2025 ballot. If a protest is filed, action on this item will be delayed until
completion of the protest process.

• The Colorado Municipal League Conference went well and was well attended. There were three

and Healthy Democracy providing a case study on the Civic Assembly process; and

Clerk’s office, on managing fear and developing effective coping strategies to increase
productivity and confidence.
Kudos to these teams.
