Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 970.221.6515 970.221-6295 - fax fcgov.com/cityclerk MEMORANDUM DATE: October 28, 2024 TO: Mayor and Councilmembers FROM: Delynn Coldiron, City Clerk RE: Leadership Planning Team (LPT) Meeting Mayor Jeni Arndt, Mayor Pro Tem Emily Francis, Deputy City Attorney Jenny Lopez Filkins, City Manager Kelly DiMartino, Assistant City Manager Rupa Venkatesh, and City Clerk Delynn Coldiron met on Monday, October 28, 2024. The following summarizes the discussions that began at 8:00 a.m. November 4, 2024 Regular Meeting • Item 9 - Discovery Air Lease: It was noted that Councilor Ohlson had a question related to this at the October 15 meeting. Francis Robbins, Acting Airport Director, sent a response. Staff will make sure that the response was sent out to Council. • Item 26 – NOCOBiz Connect (NBC): It was noted that this expansion allows Larimer County to access the program and allow Larimer County businesses outside of Fort Collins to join the sustainable business program. This will result in NBC being a single, consistent presence in the region for businesses interested in sustainable business programming. November 6, 2024 Special Meeting • Rescue Mission appeal – no questions or comments. Six-Month Calendar • February 25 – A One Water staff report has been scheduled ahead of the Water Efficiency Plan item. City Clerk Delynn Coldiron • Noted the Colorado Municipal Clerk’s Association (CMCA) Conference was a big success. She noted that the new meeting space at the Fort Collins Visitor’s Center was used for some of the sessions. The space is beautiful and worked well in tandem with the Elizabeth Hotel. She thanked Mayor Arndt and City Manager DiMartino for kicking off the conference as well as Rachel Barrett, a City Human Resources’ employee, for singing the National Anthem. Leadership Planning Team Meeting October 28, 2024 Page 2 of 2 Assistant City Manager Rupa Venkatesh • Noted that staff will be touring the Fort Collins Visitors Center new space as a possible location for the December 11 Council Planning session. Deputy City Attorney Jenny Lopez Filkins • No items. City Manager Kelly DiMartino • No items. Mayor Pro Tem Emily Francis • No items. Mayor Jeni Arndt • Noted that simplification should be emphasized for the Charter review efforts. • Noted she had been having lunches with the chairs of the boards and commissions that she is the liaison for and that this has been very helpful. • Noted her interest in exploring additional oversight related to elections. City Clerk Coldiron noted that her staff would do some research related to this and report back at the December 10 Election Code Committee meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:38 am.
