Dear City Leaders + City Council,
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board would like to express our appreciation for the Council’s hard
work during the BFO process. We are grateful for the Council's commitment to funding vital programs
and initiatives that contribute to the well-being of our community and our City’s stated priority areas.
We appreciate the Council’s commitment to sustainable operations through the offers that provide
resources for the built & living environment, including the Parks, Recreation, Trails, Downtown,
Forestry, Golf, and Cemetery operations.
The Council’s sustained commitment to asset management through the offers focused on the
Infrastructure Replacement Program will ensure the longevity of the Parks and Recreation assets every
neighbor can enjoy.
In particular, we would like to recognize the Council’s support and funding of the following offers:
● Adaptive Recreation and Reduced Fee Scholarship funding in recreation, improving human and
social health for vulnerable populations.
● Universal Preschool and Behavioral Support Specialist in recreation, supporting an integrated,
intentional approach to economic health.
● Southeast Community Center, advancing our approach toward a 15-minute city by igniting our
neighborhood centers.
While every BFO process has its own unique challenges, we feel that Council has identified and
prioritized offers that advance the values Fort Collins holds most dear. Thank you for your dedication to
improving the quality of life for all of Fort Collins neighbors.
Sincerely,
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
