Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 970.221.6515 970.221-6295 - fax fcgov.com/cityclerk MEMORANDUM DATE: September 16, 2024 TO: Mayor and Councilmembers FROM: Delynn Coldiron, City Clerk RE: Leadership Planning Team (LPT) Meeting Mayor Pro Tem Emily Francis, Councilmember Susan Gutowsky, City Manager Kelly DiMartino, City Attorney Carrie Daggett, Assistant City Manager Rupa Venkatesh, City Clerk Delynn Coldiron and Senior Deputy City Clerk Cecilia Good, met remotely on Monday, September 16, 2024. The following summarizes the discussions that began at 8:00 a.m. September 17 Regular Meeting • No questions or concerns. September 24 Work Session • No questions or concerns. Six-Month Calendar • October 1: o An additional proclamation came in for this date – Hand that Feeds from Grace Moreno and Betty Aragon-Mitotes. Because there are already four scheduled, staff will work to see if any can be rescheduled and/or if this one can be read at a related event. City Clerk Delynn Coldiron • Appeals: o Rescue Mission:  Two appeals have come in related to this.  Working on scheduling Wednesday, October 23, at 6:00 p.m. for this. Staff is working with the appellants and applicant to coordinate a date that works for all.  The appeals will be heard together and will include interpretation services.  Appeal window (based on appeal deadline): October 9 – November 27. o 201 Linden Street  This appeal is currently scheduled for November 19th. Assistant City Manager Rupa Venkatesh • Nothing to add. Leadership Planning Team Meeting September 16, 2024 Page 2 of 2 City Attorney Carrie Daggett • Noted a going away party that was held for Ingrid Decker on Friday. She thanked those who attended and noted Ingrid will be missed. • Noted they are doing interviewing now for the office manager position which should be done by the end of the week. Attorney vacancies are expected to be posted shortly. • Noted a Colorado Municipal League legal seminar that many of the attorneys will be attending in Colorado Springs at the end of week. Jenny Lopez Filkins will be covering the office on Friday. City Manager Kelly DiMartino • Provided an update on the trash contract and noted the good news that alley service has been restored. She also noted that Republic has opened a drop off station on Mondays/Wednesdays/ Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and Tuesdays/Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for people who would rather bring in old carts versus waiting for them to be picked up. • Reported hearing good feedback on the Open Streets event that was held over the weekend. She thought it went really well and was well attended. Kudos to the team and all City departments who were engaged. Councilmember Gutowsky: • Noted the Colorado Municipal League was hosting its fall meeting at the Center for Creativity. She shared that this will be the fourth event she has attended at the Center and is becoming well aware of the diversity of things that can be done with this new meeting place. • Noted that the Historic Homes tour is scheduled for this Saturday and will showcase two of the City’s museums - Water Works and the Museo de las Tres Colonias. She shared that this is always a wonderful event and invited people to attend. • Noted that the Picklr, which builds premium indoor pickleball courts, is planning to come to Fort Collins and is expected to be located at Jessup Farms. • Noted that the former Lyric building in Old Town has been demolished making way for Bohemian to expand and make improvements to the Armory. Mayor Pro Tem Emily Francis • Noted that she attended the Open Streets event and it was great. She thanked all City teams who were involved. It was fun! • Thanked the teams who participated in the Growing Water Smart planning session that was convened by the Sonoran Institute. Planning and Utilities staff participated for the purpose of understanding and learning about strategies for integrating water and land use planning. Meeting adjourned at 8:34 a.m.
