Mason Street PO Box 580, Fort Collins, CO 80522 CC: [list any additional recipients] WORK SESSION MEMORANDUM Date: September 12, 2024 To: Mayor and City Councilmembers Through: Kelly DiMartino, City Manager Travis Storin, Chief Financial Officer From: Lawrence Pollack, Budget Director Subject: 10 September 2024 work session on the 2025-2026 Budget BOTTOM LINE The purpose of this memo is to document the summary of discussions during the September 10 Work Session on the 2025-2026 Budget. All Councilmembers were present. DISCUSSION SUMMARY For this work session the following Outcomes were discussed: - Economic Health - Neighborhood and Community Vitality - Environmental Health - Safe Community After a brief presentation on each Outcome, City Council dialogue ensued with responses provided by staff. NEXT STEPS The first of two Public Hearings is scheduled for the September 17, 2024 Council Meeting for the community to comment on the 2025-26 Recommended Budget. This will be followed by the second scheduled work session to discuss the remaining Outcomes in the 2025-2026 Budget on September 24, 2024: - Culture and Recreation - Transportation and Mobility - High Performing Government There will then be a second Public Hearing on October 1 where community members can also share their comments and perspectives to Councilmembers. FOLLOW-UP ITEMS Attachment #1 contains the follow-up questions and requests not addressed during this first budget work session. Responses to those will be provided to City Council in upcoming Thursday Packs.
