BACKGROUND  Across the country, states are in the process of implementing structures and plans to distribute at least $50 billion awarded to states and localities from opioid-related lawsuits.  The State of Colorado Attorney General’s Office activated Regional Opioid Abatement Councils which are responsible for distributing the funds over 17 years for the purpose of substance use disorder treatment, recovery, harm reduction, law enforcement, and prevention/education programs.  Region 2 Opioid Abatement Council (ROAC) consists of representatives from Larimer County (Public Health Director Tom Gonzales and Commissioner Jody Shaddock- McNally), City of Fort Collins (Director of Social Sustainability Dept. Beth Yonce), City of Loveland (Councilor Erin Black), Town of Wellington (Trustee Brian Mason), Town of Estes Park (Trustee Cindy Younglund).
