The program is comprised of work groups from Traffic and Streets and contains five main revenue generating activities: patching/asphalt/traffic control services, deicing materials, parking lot snow removal, Hoffman Mill Crushing, and Traffic related items (sign fabrication, sign/pavement marking installation and traffic signal upgrades and installation). Fees for these programs are calculated on a yearly basis and are meant to cover both annual and one-time expenses. Examples of annual costs include staffing while one-time costs are largely represented by equipment replacement. This memo references all external parties as “external” and references all City groups as “internal”. The percentages provided represent the percentage of total activity revenue generated by each customer type in 2023. Highlights 1. Deicing materials – 99.8% external, .2% internal • External groups: Larimer County, Town of Windsor, Town of Wellington, Poudre School District • Internal groups: Parks, Transfort • Per ton fee charged for the purchase of salt and per gallon fee for salt brine 3. Parking lot snow removal – 100% internal • Internal groups: Operations Services, Transfort 4. Hoffman Mill Crushing – 98% external, 2% internal • External groups: contractors, landscapers, trucking companies and other businesses • Internal groups: Utilities, Engineering, Traffic, Parks, Natural Areas • Fee charged for the purchase of recycled asphalt, recycled concrete, and screened fill dirt (product being diverted from the landfill) 5.
