Councilmembers Present: All councilmembers were present. Presenting Staff: Cortney Geary, Active Modes Manager Direction Sought 1. What feedback do Councilmembers have on the draft vision and goals? 2. What feedback do Councilmembers have on community engagement strategies? Discussion Summary Incorporate people of all income levels into the access goal: transportation network for all people regardless of skill level, age, background, or ability Incorporate the joy of active transportation into the vision and goals. Support for the vision and goals, especially Vision Zero Support for the outreach effort including a broader demographic and those who are not typically engaged, especially students Requested Community and Technical Advisory Committee membership lists Interest in improving snow removal for pedestrians and bicyclists Identified the need for improvement in the e-scooter program Desire for continued emphasis on the role of driver behavior and speeds in traffic safety Interest from constituents in increasing low-stress bikeway network Interest in identifying pl grocery stores Support for the length of the project timeline Interest in making sure the plan gives equal attention to walking Next Steps Develop recommendations and prioritization criteria for public review Draft plan for public review August 2022 final Council presentation and anticipated plan adoption
