RE: Updated Discussion Questions for Land Use Code Phase 1 Updates Work Session
Purpose: In response to feedback received at the Leadership Planning Team (LPT) meeting on
February 7, 2022, staff has revised the discussion questions for the Council Work Session on
February 8, 2022.
Summary: Discussion at the LPT meeting indicated that there is not enough information at this
time to inform a full discussion of the complex tradeoffs and tensions involved in addressing the
Diagnostic Report findings. Staff has revised the discussion questions accordingly.
As part of the code drafting process following the work session on February 8, the project team
intends to test and evaluate the expected impact(s) of potential code changes. A future work
session prior to consideration of adoption for the Land Use Code (LUC) Phase 1 updates will
provide an opportunity to discuss these potential impact(s), as well as the tradeoffs and tensions
involved.
Attachment: Updated discussion questions on slides 2 and 22

Champine, Planning, Development, and Transportation (PDT) Director; Julie Brewen, Housing Catalyst Executive
Director; Dave Lenz, Finance Planning and Analysis Director; Beth Yonce, Social Sustainability Director
Discussion21. What feedback does Council have about the Diagnostic Report recommendations, and what should the project team consider as we evaluate potential tradeoffs? 2. Are there any adjustments Council would like to see to the code drafting approach?
