Memo to Mayor Arndt and Councilmenbers
Please review brief motion attached below - unanimously approved today by the SAB.
Issue: Ensuring all B&C’s have Code-mandated member levels
Filling interim B&C vacancies in a timely manner has been a recurring problem during the past decade.
Prior attention to this matter by some former council members has been unsatisfactory.
Please address the issue and kindly approve a timely solution so that the problem does not recur.
Thank you.
Myles

SAB Agenda Item VI
Memorandum to Council Re. Board Member Shortage
“Re. Municipal Ordinance No. 049,2021 Sec.2-112 Senior Advisory Board
“The Board shall consist of nine (9) members.”
Currently the Senor Advisory Board (SAB) consists of only eight members. This is
an unacceptable situation which has occurred In two of the past three years.
The SAB strongly endorses the proposal by Council Liaison Gutowsky that:
1) The City initiate efforts to recruit a 9th Board member as soon as feasible.
2) When two or more candidates are found acceptable during the interview
process, the City’s records should retain a list of their names with a private
notation for any one candidate whom the interviewing Councilmembers
consider an appropriate backup.
The SAB looks forward to having its ninth Board member as soon as possible.”

Note:
1) During the Jan 12th SAB meeting , Tammi Pusheck commented that she is
currently exploring options.
2) SAB is appreciative of Council Liaison Gutowsky’s support in this matter.
