RE: Library Park Neighborhood Updates
Purpose: This memo will provide a monthly summary to strategies to compassionately
mange and address issues impacting the Library Park Neighborhood, including recent
trends and communication efforts.
Updates from taskforce members :
Fort Collins Police Services reports that there is very little overnight camping
occurring in the area at this time. Officers regularly respond to reports of
disruptive behaviors and other criminal activity in this area. Officers frequently
find evidence of drug use and suspects with arrest warrants when addressing
these complaints.
Code Compliance reports no significant changes.
Social Sustainability has no updates to report.
Outreach Fort Collins (OFC) still reports that engagement in Library Park
Neighborhood has seen a decrease since the opening of the shelter located at
1301 Blue Spruce Drive. OFC has not received any calls from community
members since the last memo. There have been no changes in appearance in
the area as far as rubbish or belongings.
The team continues to work on a strategy guide of best practices when
addressing issues of homelessness in both residential and business areas. It
strives to incorporate the learnings and adaptations due to COVID over the last
year.
Please Note: We will be moving from a bi-monthly to a monthly schedule for
these updates. The taskforce team plans to work closely with the new
Homelessness Coordinator to orient them to this work and create a plan of action
moving forward.

neighborhood. The task force includes staff from Police Services, Neighborhood
Services/Code Compliance, Social Sustainability, Office, and the City
